SUMMARY:Live Webinar - Impact of possible LUC Changes for Political Broadcasters
DESCRIPTION:There have been two occurrences that could have a significant impact on what organizations will be eligible for Lowest Unit Charge rates in the upcoming election. Remember\, the political window opens 60 days before the General election in November. As we reported previously\, the FCC expanded the scope of LUC to include additional committees that coordinate with legally qualified federal candidates. The practical impact is that some so-called "soft money" groups could engage in joint fundraising and advertising with those candidates. Then the Supreme Court ruled that some so-called "soft money groups" could work in cooperation with candidate committees\, something that had been banned previously. All of that to say\, the ABA will host a Political Advertising Rules Webinar on Thursday\, August 6th at 2 pm in conjunction with the ABA Law Firm\, Fletcher\, Heald & Hildreth.\nWhen you register\, you will be send an email with the Zoom link.
